Melatonin is a hormone that is secreted by a part of the brain called the pineal gland. The synthesis of melatonin begins with L-tryptophan which is converted into 5–HTP then to serotonin and then to melatonin. Production of melatonin is under the influence of part of the brain known as the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus receives information from the retina of the eye, about the daily patterns of light and dark. The result is the production of physiological and behavioral circadian rhythms. These circadian rhythms help control various functions in the body including the wake/sleep cycle.†

The amount of melatonin produced varies; synthesis is increased in the dark and decreased in the light. As darkness approaches, melatonin production increases, helping prepare the body for sleep.

Studies show that supplemental melatonin may help support a normal sleep cycle, help fight jet-lag, and in higher amounts provide antioxidant support.†

Suggested Use:

 Orders can be picked up daily, M-F 9 to 8, 9-6 Sat, noon to 5 Sun. An email will be sent when your order is ready for pickup.

 

FLAT RATE SHIPPING

 Orders are generally shipped within 3 to 5 days using the United States Post office. The delivery standard is 2 - 7 days. Flat rate shipping fee of $10 applies to orders shipping to locations within the continues United States.  We do not ship outside of the United States at this time.

 

 DOMESTIC SHIPPING RATES AND ESTIMATES:

 For calculated shipping rates:  Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout.

 

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:

 We currently do not offer shipping outside of the continuous United States.

 

REFUNDS, RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

 We accept returns up to 30 days after delivery, if the item is unused and in its original condition, and we will refund the full order amount minus the shipping costs for the return.  See Return and Refund Policy.
